Bella Fiore announces a new addition to our family of displaying artists.  Teresa Mihalko Harbert is a local artist trained in the art of Pysanky.    

Teresa stumbled into the shop awhile ago to purchase tickets for the Fair Oaks Theater Festical production of Minnie's Boys. Noticing all the great art we had up in the shop, she asked if we ever displayed local artists? I said we tried to when ever possible to feature local artists. I asked her if she was an artist and Teresa said yes. What is your medium I asked?  Eggs, she replied.  I looked puzzeled and she then said Pysanky it is an old Ukranian art form of coloring different types of eggs. We are glad to announce that Teresa Mihalko Harbert will be our featured artist for Second Saturday in August. She will be demonstrating her art form all evening.

Just last week one of our current artists, Charmaine Austin stopped by to refresh her display at the store.  WOW!  As if her artistic hand painted eggs and painting with feathers from her own chickens were not cool enough, she continues to inspire us with both her creativity and her ability to build dynamic and interesting decore from recycled materials.  As shown above, you just cannot beat these nautical themed decorations fashioned form oars, sea weed, paint brushes, and shells.  And besides, our pictures simply can not do them justice.  Stop by the village and see these great new projects by Charmaine while they are still available, and keep your eyes pealed for whatever wonderful creations she stops by with next!

We enjoyed another wonderful artwalk during last weeks Second Saturday as lots of new folks came out to check out art displays and new participants at Encore Home Furnishings and Art and Slocum House.  Momentum has continued to build as we look forward to adding even more venues next month to display art as well as provide other services, entertainment, or just to remain open for visitors to have even more to see and to enjoy.  Congratulations to Charmaine Austin who is the winner the 2nd Saturday drawing.  Charmain visited 5 of our 7 locations open in the Fair Oaks Village during Second Saturday and won a professional photography sitting with local photographer Michael Taylor.  Stay tuned for next month when we look forward to adding even more partners in the Fair Oaks Village for Second Saturday festivities.  Have a favorite business in the village?  Be sure to tell them to stay open for Second Saturday and come on down for a visit.  A wonderful night of art, entertainment, community and good free fun!Thank you to all who came out, and to Michael Taylor for donating his professional photography services.

Bella Fiore, event florist and Fair Oaks Village boutique and art gallery, announces it's July Second Saturday festivities and drawing.  Bella Fiore will continue to feature the artwork of Sacramento Area artists; Charmaine Austin, Merriel Taylor, Tamara Fondelli, Lauren Forcella, and Photographer Michael Taylor.  Additional art by Tamara Randall Fondelli will be on display in the village hot spot Slocum House where visitors can also take advantage of some hor d' oeuvres.  Bella Fiore will be open during the typical Second Saturday hours of 6pm to 9pm.  


Other Fair Oaks Village participants will include Chroma Art Gallery, Encore Home Furnishings and Art, Phil Evans Studio and Sculpture Park, Raven Hill Studio, Art Gallery Tupos, and the New Art Works Gallery


Those who visit at least 5 locations on Second Saturday will be entered to win a free professional sitting for 2 with professional photographer and artist Michael Taylor.

Last month in partnership with businesses within the Fair Oaks Village who were participants in the Second Saturday Art Walk we held a drawing for an original metal sculpture made by Phill Evans of Phill Evans Studio and Scupture Park.   Participants in the Second Saturday festivities included these Fair Oaks Village businesses:Chroma Art Gallery, Phil Evans Studio and Sculpture Park, Raven Hill Studio, Art Gallery Tupos, and the New Art Works Gallery and Bella Fiore.

The winner of the metal sculpture was Carola Easterbrook.  Carola was exstatic when Phill phoned her about winning.Thank you to everybody who came out.  Watch for upcoming news about Second Saturday on July 10th.

More and more, customers are coming into the store with news that they read about us on Yelp, or that they read about our Second Saturday events on Facebook.  We are working to naturally take advantage of these new tools to communicate with our customers.  We love hearing from you!  Recently we decided to try out an even newer online tool by the name of Foursquare.  Using Foursquare users "check-in" using apps on their smartphones to the venues they visit throughout the day.  The users then are awarded badges for a variety of fun tasks or achievements.  Check-in more than anybody else in the last 60 days and you can become the Mayor of that particular venue.  We welcomed our first Mayor just a couple of months ago.  

We are in the process of working with Foursquare to develop a special offer for our friends on Foursquare.  Anybody who checks in at Bella Fiore will qualify for a very special free gift!  Stay tuned for the announcement of our special offer.
